MORINGA VALUE CHAIN & PROCESSING (MVC&P)

1. INTRODUCTION TO MVC&P:

The Moringa Value Chain & Processing (MVC&P) framework transforms Moringa oleifera from a simple agroforestry tree into a high-value industrial, nutritional, medicinal, and cosmetic economy.

Under the Moringa Agriculture-Based Clusters (M-ABCs) — the specialised form of Agriculture-Based Clusters (ABCs) — FPI and HGN have developed a structured, compliant, export-ready system aligned with:

  • SPS (Sanitary and Phytosanitary Standards)

  • HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)

  • EcoCert organic standards

  • ISO 22000 Food Safety Management

  • MRV (Monitoring, Reporting & Verification) for carbon markets

  • SADC, AfCFTA, EU, FDA/NOP export compliance

2. THE FULL MORINGA VALUE CHAIN (MVC):

​

The MVC is organised into six (6) interconnected stages:

 

2.1 Stage 1 — Production (Farm Level / F-Level)

All production occurs under certified M-ABC members, meaning only farmers trained by FPI and certified through the Standards of Service (SoS) may participate.

 

F-Level production follows:

  • SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)

  • Agroforestry guidelines

  • Organic protocols

  • MRV compliance

  • Sanitary and Phytosanitary Standards (SPS) requirements
